Andre Curry, the agent of Chelsea’s new signing Estevao, boasts about the qualities of his youngster, saying that he is like a sponge, ready to absorb knowledge and apply every role as instructed by head coach Enzo Maresca.
The Blues have agreed a deal to sign Brazilian wonderkid Estevao Willian Messinho from Brazilian side Palmeiras for a guaranteed fee of £28.7m (€34m), with the player set to join after the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
In the 2026 World Cup South American qualifiers where Brazil beat Ecuador 1-0 on Friday, the 17-year-old came on as a second-half substitute and caused quite a stir.
That has given Curry confidence Messinho can play in any attacking position at Stamford Bridge.
“For us, the playing position is important,” he said through ‘UOL Esporte’.
“The kid will develop more when playing in the middle, but he can actually stand anywhere.”
Though Estevao has made just 36 appearances in first-team football, he is already being tipped for a huge future in the game, with coaches and team-mates falling over themselves to praise the teen.
‘He is a great talent that is emerging today in Brazilian football,’ Neymar told ESPN back in June.
‘I think he’s going to be a genius.’
The 17-year-old’s senior Brazil debut saw Promotion Ufabet him complete all 12 passes (100%), make one key pass, create one key chance and intercept one possession.
In the game, Messino also faced off against Ecuadorian midfielder Kenny Paez, a potential Chelsea teammate.
